Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. Her family was raised within an multiethnic family. Jacqueline's dad Elroy Fernandez, is Sri Lankan. Jacqueline has two older siblings and a younger sibling. The family have moved to Bahrain in 1980s due to the Lankan turmoil and her birth and education were in Bahrain. After completing school in Bahrain she received an Scholarship to the University of Sydney to pursue a Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. She was also a student at in the Berlitz School of Languages that helped her learn French, Arabic and Spanish. In 2006, she was crowned the Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March, 2006, and was also a contestant at Miss Universe 2006. In 2006, she took home she won the Miss Sri Lanka title. After that, she went into television to host the show about Sri Lankan business called Lanka Business Report. Padukone is the child of and badminton world champion Prakash Padukone. Padukone grew as a child in Bangalore, but she came from Copenhagen. While still a teenager, Padukone competed in a variety of national badminton tournaments. However, she resigned from playing when she made the decision to become a fashion model. Padukone comes from Mangalore and her native language is Konkani. Padukone Village is situated in Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi District in Karnataka within India. Prakash Padukone is her father and was a badminton player of international fame. Her mother works as an agent of travel.
